This is a hit resource with small children. There are 10 pages of examples of pictures that indicate what an App might be about: Art, health, drawing, computer games, sport, music, history, geography and French. There are 2 of the same ‘app’ per page for younger children to play matching games. There is a blank template at the end for children to use to make their own designs of an App of their choice. This template is also very good for making into subject cards and displaying as a timetable. Something original and different to the norm.

This can be used as a worksheet on its own, or children can choose their monster to work on. Page 2 shows an example of a colour collage made from a selection of the monsters. Page 3 shows a collection of coloured eyes that children could copy or add to their monsters. Pages 4 to 15 - here are the black and white monsters with 2 to a page. Design a Bedroom in 10 Steps KS1

This is a good activity linked to Ourselves and Homes and encourages memory and speaking and listening. Children can reflect on their own bedrooms, their colour scheme and what is in their bedrooms / what they would like. There are 10 sheets here to carefully observe and discuss. Sheet 1 is a black and white basic room and each sheet after that adds something such as colour, decorations, pictures, slippers etc. Finally sheet 10 is the finished bedroom. A good activity is to go from sheet 10 backwards and see if children can spot what has been taken away. Children can use the black and white picture to build up / make a bedroom of their own. They can use fabrics, collage materials or paints/felts to decorate the room. Children could go on to write about Laura, whose bedroom this is, what can they tell about Laura just from observation?
